ORGANIC COTTON
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Farmers of organic cotton follow practices that maintain the soil, conserve water and support biodiversity. Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. In addition, government regulations prohibit the use of genetically engineered seed for organic farming.
RECYCLED FIBRES
We use a variety of fabrics including Thermal Pro® with Repreve® from Polartec® and recycled polyester that transform recycled plastic bottles into fabric. We also use a variety of insulation from Primaloft® which uses 50% or more post-consumer recycled fibres. Using these recycled products reduces our dependence on petroleum as a source of raw materials. It also limits the waste, thereby prolonging landfill life and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators.
MODAL®
Modal® is a natural fibre extracted from beechwood trees, a sustainable raw material. The fibre structure and low fibre rigidity gives Modal® fabrics unparalleled softness. Easy-to-care-for fibres make this an ideal fabric for travel.
TENCEL®
Tencel® is a natural fibre that regulates body temperature better than synthetic fibres. It utilises nanofibrils for natural wicking without additives. The canals set between the nanofibrils move the absorbed moisture to the surface to dry quickly leaving the fabric feeling dry against the skin. Tencel® is also naturally antibacterial and is derived from eucalyptus trees and its clean production system reuses 98% of its by-products. Feeling extremely soft without the toxic by-products of other soft fabrics it also provides an incredible drape.
