Mingma Tenzing Sherpa started working as an assistant guide to his father during school holidays when he was only 14 years old, having been raised in Namche Bazaar. He went on to high school and then college in Kathmandu, where he earnt his degree in Physical Science. Despite his degree vocation, Mingma has always wanted to pursue his passion for climbing and trekking, following in his father's footsteps. His regular climbs include Island Peak, Lobutse and Mera Peak.
In recent years, Mingma and his wife Yangji have set up a climbing and trekking agency called Acclimatize Nepal. They regularly travel to Europe in the off-season to promote the business - whilst fitting in some climbing along the way.
